About the Book
Raise Capital on Your Own Terms lays out the vast range of capital-raising strategies available to entrepreneurs. You don’t have to go the “Silicon Valley” route, which is frankly wrong for the majority of businesses anyway. Nor do you have to unduly stress yourself or your personal finances, or give up control.
With 25 years of experience in small business funding, Jenny Kassan knows the landscape of investment capital is far larger and more diverse than many lawyers and business advisors would have you believe. Kassan shows you how to find the right investors on your own terms, and provides a layperson’s primer on the laws and regulations governing fundraising.
Kassan takes you through a six-step process for creating a customized capital-raising plan: one that inspires you, excites you, and is in complete alignment with your business goals and your personal values.
Each live Book Study session will cover one of six steps for creating your customized fundraising plan
Step 1: Get clear on your goals and values
Step 2: Identify the right investors for you
Step 3: Design your offer
Step 4: Choose your legal compliance strategy
Step 5. Enroll investors
Step 6: Address obstacles head on
"Readers could not find a better coach, mentor, and guide for raising capital. Prepare to have your old notions of how to raise capital turned upside down!"
—Amy Cortese, journalist & founder of Investibule.co
"A business consultant recommended I read Jenny's book, and it completely opened my mind to the possibilities. I had no idea that there were so many different ways to resource my business, that I could structure a fundraising strategy that felt right to me, or that I could present investors with my offer on my terms. I've since hired Jenny, and we've created a strategy and terms I feel great about. The investors I've spoken with like them, too. Just having Jenny on my side is a game changer."
—Shaun Chavis, CEO of LVNGbook
